2021.09.20 17:03 DeftNerd Raspberry Pi Zero emulating USB storage for network accessible video clips?
I'm a bit disappointed in the Blink system I invested in. I wanted to eventually build a system that could integrate with a bespoke home automation system. The biggest problem seems to be Blink's insistance that the mobile phone should be the center of the Blink universe.
After analyzing some open-source projects meant to interface with the Blink system, all of them seem to be focused on the Blink storage servers and API. The Blink Sync Module 2 seems to be locked down so direct access isn't possible.
I did stumble across another possibility, and I was wondering if anyone has attempted this yet before I give it a shot.
The Raspberry Pi Zero is a Single Board Computer that can present itself as a USB Mass Storage adapter. My intent is to build a small OS that connects to wifi and mounts a network share on my home server and presents it as a flash drive to the Sync Module 2. Any files written to it by the Sync Module would in essence be written to the network share.
From there, I can just monitor the share for the addition of new files and copy them to an archival location (so the Sync Module doesn't try to delete them) and set up custom notifications.
I haven't analyzed the video files or their name schema to determine if the source of the camera can be determined from file itself, but that would be a great bonus.
Anyone else attempt something like this?
2021.09.20 17:03 Yolt97 Looking for sub-genres, playlists or artists for energetic instrumental music to work to
When I’m working, if there are any words in the music it’s really hard for me to concentrate. I like most kinds of electronic music, but I’m not always in the mood for it. Most any genre for instrumental would be good, but just selecting a genre playlist is too inconsistent.
Classical music is often good, but can sometimes be too slow and sleepy to be motivating, or the huge dynamic range of a quiet part transitioning to fortissimo breaks my concentration.
Jazz is good, but cool jazz or other slow songs are too relaxing and demotivate me. An example of a perfect jazz song for me is Take Five by Dave Brubeck. A jazz sub genre, playlist or artist with consistent medium high energy would be great
Lofi is usually too slow and Rock is too aggressive. I like almost all kinds of music when I’m not working, but music to focus and develop software to is what I need.
TL;DR I need medium high energy instrumental music that isn’t either sleepy or chaotic-aggressive

2021.09.20 17:03 M_atlanticus What do you want to see in a Jeep trail map?
I’m making some trail maps for fun and am thinking about publishing some. Beyond just a line on a page and connecting roads, what would you like to see in a trail map? I’m specifically doing Jeep badge of honor trails (I’ve done a handful on the East coast).
I was thinking roads that connect to trailheads, maybe the nearest towns, waterways, elevation gain (if the data is available), etc. On the map I was thinking I could put the trail rating from the app as well as some basic information on terrain and points of interest along the trail. I was hoping to get some community input as to what you all would like to see on a map graphic for an offroad trail.

2021.09.20 17:03 Sansoffundertale The hit boxes in this game make literally no god damn sense
Like I feel as if my attacks barely do jack-shit even when I’m practically breathing in my opponent’s face, but my opponent will be able to hit me with fucking light attacks from full screen. Now I’m being a little facetious, but still.
Another thing. The burst in this game does jack shit also. Like I was fighting an I-no and I tried bursting out of a combo string, and keep in mind they weren’t even fucking blocking or anything and I was literally right fucking next to them. I bursted and nothing fucking happened, they didn’t get blasted away or anything.
I’m sick and fucking tired of this game and its shit

2021.09.20 17:03 Rambooctpuss The Rolling Stone 500 greatest Albums Of All Time: #415 The Meters-Look-Ka-Py Py (1970)
| #415 The Meters- Look-Ka Py Py|
The Meters were the house band for the New Orleans sound made popular by producer Allen Toussaint. They played on some of the greatest 70’s funk albums ever. In fact the are also one of the most sampled artists of all time Salt N Peppa, Nas, The Jungle Brothers, 3rd Base, NWA, Queen Latifah, A Tribe Called Quest, MC Lyte, Dela Soul, and The Beastie Boys. If you were a hip hop artist in the late 80’s early 90’s you sampled a song by the Meters. Ill put a link to all the artists who sampled them at the bottom of this post. Their second album is an instrumental funk masterpiece. This is the definition of groove. The band is so loose you can only imagine what the recording sessions were like. Art Neville’s organ and George Porter's bass playing will stand out here. Not to take away from Ziggy Modeliste Drumming who keeps the rhythms tight or or Leo Noncenteli guitar playing which melts together with the other instruments and sounds fantastic. I could write for hours about this album. It's so goddamn good. If I could travel back in time and listen to one band play live, The Meters might make my top 5 list. “Funky Miracle” “My Last Affair” and “9 to 5” are just lost funk classics. RS had this album at #220 on their 2003 and 2012 list. That’s a 195 spot drop. These judges for this list really do suck and not in a good way. Check this great album out and tell your friends to make the Meters Matter Again! Here's the LInk of the songs that sampled the band.

2021.09.20 17:03 Albedo100 Is Huberman really saying you can only work optimally for about 3 hours a day?
I've been following his routine/advice and get a couple good hours in with it, but I still get burnt out at various points of the day, especially at night. Unfortunately, like most people, I have to work a 9-5, so my personal interests tend to take the brunt of the burnout.
Seems like his two 90-minute deep work session philosophy is a bit out of touch for most people.

2021.09.20 17:03 Tiny-Ad4123 Need help with unruley landlord
Hey everyone! Im looking for some advice in regards to dealing my my landlords
Currently renting in oakville Ontario at the same place for 10yrs. It is an illegal basement apartment
Never signed a lease agreement. Just a handshake and a gentlmens agreement that rent would stay the same.
Over the last 10yrs the wife has been having partys a few days a month with her family. Blasting music until 130am or later. Iv talked to both husband and wife about the loud music and people jumping and banging along with kids screaming and yelling. Nothing has changed. The wife has these parties whenever the husband is away for work.
On the weekend that just passed i came home at 1030pm and the house was full of people and music blasting. At 1230am i banged on the door and asked her to turn it down she told me that "this is my house ill do what i want".. i proceeded to tell her that i am living below her and how can she do this to somebody. She then told me "you dont have to live here. Go somewhere else" then slammed the door and turned the music louder until 130am.
She has told me multiple times that im not wanted and has increasingly made it harder to live there but never actually went thru with an eviction. The husband wants me there but the wife doesnt.
What are my options? What do i do?
