2021.10.26 05:54 Dokthe2nd Hwang Jun-Ho. The Korean Solid Snake. Convince me otherwise.
The guy sneaks on to a boat under a car, takes out a guard, takes his uniform, infiltrates a secret facility, poses as a facility worker, infiltrates a secret operation within the operation, sneaks into a sub bosses office, steals Intel, takes out another worker to steal their disguise, interrogates a vip for Intel, escapes one island to another through scuba, essentially has some sort of relationship with one of the antagonist. I mean what is going on here?

2021.10.26 05:54 SummerOf1974 Would Red Bull sacrifice the constructors' to win the drivers' championship?
Was watching a podcast and an interesting question was asked that I'd love to get everyone's opinion on.
Let's say that it's the final race of the season this year and both the constructors and drivers championships are only separated by a few points, would Red Bull sacrifice the constructors to help Max Verstappen win his first title?
For example, Sergio Pérez is in the podium positions towards the end of the race, but Lewis Hamilton has the point for fastest lap. Would Red Bull pit Pérez to steal the point from lewis, giving Max the drivers' title, yet as a result lose the constructors' title and the millions in prize money that it brings?

2021.10.26 05:54 1anFinster What is reading Hitchens like for native speakers and for ESL speakers [in terms of difficulty]?
I am an ESL speaker, who has read hundreds of books and academic papers in English and I lived in the UK for 4 years. I recently started reading Hitchens (For the Sake of Argument) and in spite of my background, I have a comprehension rate of (at best) only about 98%.
What is it like for native speakers or other ESL speakers? Do you actually know what "expiring from insipidity", "lugubrious", "the surreptitious, invertebrate quality", etc mean?
My second question: is he actually writing good English? With all due respect to him, I sometimes wonder if he wants to show off. Are using exotic adjectives you might only find at the bottom of a list in a thesaurus really good English?
Are expressions like "..without anyone having exactly willed this outcome..." really better than the more straight-forward "without anyone having wanted/desired/wished for this outcome..." or is "[he is] never averse to hearing a bit of bad news" really more readable than simple " he does not mind hearing a bit of bad news"?

2021.10.26 05:54 readball Amazon-like site to buy gifts for HK relatives
I was thinking about this. Instead of buying things in Europe, and sending it to HK, I would like to look into buying directly in HK, and sending it to their address.
I would like the site to have multiple types of things: kids toys, clothes, electronics etc.
Where should I buy? I wouldn't mind if it would not be too expensive, but I don't want aliexpress either

2021.10.26 05:54 KeekehHernandez [Carr]Are… are people seriously testifying that a Braves team — that wouldn’t even be in line for a wild card spot were they not head of the division — are not a bad team? Every NL East team has been hurt, but they are also all tremendously flawed. They are all simply not good.

2021.10.26 05:54 KripperinoArcherino How to understand big o, small o, theta, big omega and small omega of sets?
I see them used all the time such as O(g(n)) but I don’t understand what exactly they are. I heard that big O are somewhat related to time complexity. I also don’t understand what is mean with a statement such that: “o(g(n)) is a subset of (O(g(n)).” Finally, in some of the examples I see it usually ends with something like f(n) <= delta g(n), but if g(n) is the original function what, and where did f(n) come from?
